The work never ends for the people caring for abandoned dogs...

The shelter in Porto Rafti is one of many in the area looking after the hundreds of dogs who ended up on the streets of this beautiful part of Greece. The shelter was built on an abandoned land with some crumbling construction and vegetation. A group of volunteers set up large spaces to house the dogs they rescue from the streets. Many are left on the streets to fend for themselves but are fed by the volunteers. The ones they take to the shelter are the most at risk and who require special attention like pups, injured or sick dogs. These dogs need medical attention, medicine and Special food.
